Great Quotes – Persistence

I recently got engaged in a dialogue with one of my colleagues who is into sales. As we know, sales and marketing is extremely target oriented. People who get overwhelmed by sales targets seldom succeed. He shared one of the advices he got from his boss long back –  “Persistence is the key here – even after giving your 200%, when deals don’t work out or a client turns you down or plans fail, you still have to walk into the office next day morning with a broad smile on your face and address things afresh – as if you are taking it up for the first time.”

Seth Godin – great as ever – gives us one of the best definitions of persistence. I loved it and could not help sharing it here.

“Persistence isn’t using the same tactics over and over. That’s just annoying.
Persistence is having the same goal over and over.”

I think the only recipe for being successful in anything is to have persistence combined with a lot of passion and conviction. What say?

Yes passion and conviction and also a lot of perspiration.

Like Edison who tried over 6000 different materials before finding one that would withstand the rigours of the lightbulb …

Genius is 1% inspiration, and 99% perspiration.

Love the Godin quote. Thx for sharing.
