While I was away…
Tanmay Vora
Last year was very hectic for me – work, travel, book, blog and a host of other things. I needed a good break to re-energize and spend quality time with my family and hence, last week, I took a one-week break to Goa – my favorite destination. Sandy and rocky beaches, palms dotting the skyline, overcast skies, the grandeur of vast Arabian Sea, Portuguese architecture (some of the world heritage sites), cathedrals and food has always enticed me. A week spent without cell phone, internet and connectivity helped me spend time quality with my family and myself. My batteries are recharged and I am ready to take on more work, more reading, more thinking and more writing.
In social media, a lot can happen in one week, and it did.
- I have been reading Phil Gerbyshak’s blog Slacker Manager since a very long time. Phil has honored me by including me in his list of Top Management and Leadership Twitterers. I am in a very elite company there. Thank you Phil, for this kind gesture. (Follow me on Twitter)
- The latest Carnival of Leadership Development blogs is up at LeaderTalk blog. My post titled “GIVING is GROWING” has been featured in the Carnival along with a number of very interesting articles on Leadership, Management and Human Resources. It is a great compilation you just cannot afford to miss! Go, read them all! Additionally, if you are on Twitter, you can follow all the contributors on a single click. That’s an added bonus.
- Nicholas Bate is not a stranger anymore for readers of this blog. I have been an ardent fan of his writing. Nicholas points to the my post “GIVING is GROWING”. The most interesting thing is that Nicholas refers to me as “Top Blogger”. A true honor for someone who has grown a lot after reading Nicholas Bate’s books. Have you read “Instant MBA” yet? I strongly recommend this book for anyone who wants to become better.
There were a number of interesting conversations on the blogs I follow and I am yet to catch up with all of them. I hope to read them all in the coming week and get back on track.
I wish you a wonderful and productive week ahead!

Thank you so much Phil! You and many others in my group have been a constant source of inspiration for me over last few years and I cannot thank you more for all that you have shared in management, leadership and social media space.
