Another productive blogging month comes to an end. April saw me writing a lot more than routine, thanks to a 10-days hiatus from active work. This was also a remarkable month because I transitioned to a new job, new challenges and completed 4 years of active blogging. It has been a long journey so far – and indeed, a very rewarding one.
In case you were busy, traveling (or holidaying like me), here is a quick round up of all my writing in April 2010. (You can also visit round ups of Jan 2010, Feb 2010 and Mar 2010)
My Writing at QAspire Blog
-
I started April writing about leadership thoughts from Peter Drucker’s 1992 classic “Managing For The Future” – and what it means to us as modern day leaders. My favorite quote from the book is – Essence of leadership is not ‘leadership qualities’ or ‘charisma’. Essence of leadership is ‘performance’. Amen!
-
My next post was about 4 years of my blogging and how it has helped me personally. I also revisited the purpose of my blogging, which still remains same after 4 years – learn, share, express and write.
-
I then wrote about managing your internal customers : your people. If you are a project manager, leader or a business owner, this post offers a few questions on your ‘internal customers: your people’ to ponder upon.
-
This month, QAspire Blog made it to the list of Top 150 Management and Leadership Blogs compiled by Jurgen Appelo based on Google, Twitter Grader, Alexa and Technorati ratings. I was both happy and proud about it.
-
I presented my view on effectiveness by narrating a tale of two managers – and difference in their understanding of what effectiveness really means.
-
Personal and professional integrity is at the core of being a leader. Yet, we find many examples of leaders whose behavior is not integral. I wrote post ‘Professional Integrity, Behaviors and Leadership’ to present my definition of what integrity means to me.
-
I pondered over definition of quality in service business – and it was much beyond plain ‘conformance to requirements’. My post ‘Customer Expectations in Service: Are you Listening?’ presented some other important factors that constitute the definition of quality in services business.
-
My next post “Monday Thought: Do We Have Time to Notice the Beauty?” was about everyone getting so busy that they don’t have time to stop, slow down and notice the beauty of things around us.
-
I discovered my own leadership principles while in conversation with one of my team members which led to the post “Nine I’s and Great Leadership’.
-
Social media is not just about building ‘connections’ but about building ‘meaningful and valuable relationships’. I introduced you to 99Tribes.com – a twitter discovery engine by Activegarage.
-
What is the legacy of a leader? I read a few interesting posts across the blogosphere and my thoughts shaped up this post.
-
Leaders are mentors – who positively influence the work, life and outcomes of individuals. I have had privilege of mentoring a few people and this post was an extract of my lessons learned while mentoring.
-
The last post of April was an idea about building strong teams by turning your managers into trainers.
Plus:
-
My post – “8 Lessons I Learned on Being an Effective Mentor” was featured in April Round Up on subject ‘Leaders builds connections and teams’ at Mountain State University’s LeaderTalk blog.
-
My post – “Nine I’s and Great Leadership” was selected in Wally Bock’s famous “Midweek Look at the Independent Business Blogs”.
May 2010 looks promising for me – and I wish it is equally promising for you as well. Have a FANTASTIC Friday!
