Friday Reflection: The ‘Real’ Powers!

Updated on

This morning when I was praying, God again appeared. HE gently put His hand on my head and said –

My Son,

Most people live with an illusion that real power is in wealth. In degrees. In material.

They spend most of their lives looking for power “somewhere out there”.

I have “gifted” each human being with great powers that lie “within” them.

The power to think. Imagine. Visualize.

To choose your battles.

To choose between mediocrity and greatness.

The power to understand, listen and relate with other human beings.

To see the best in them.

The power to read. To grasp. To learn.

The power to walk. Talk. Choose your words.

The power to change your perspectives. Shape your attitude.

To focus. To concentrate. To direct your energies.

The power to smile. The power to love others.

You can create whatever you decide to.

Ability to decide – that is your supreme strength.

So, look within. Not outside.

That is where your real powers are.

I have gifted you – will you care to unwrap these gifts?

Thank you for again a great post. I just had a discussion with my aunt regarding what spirituality and prayers means to us, and how prayers changes us. our own prayers gives us a strength to think beyond the material requirement, and give us vision to appreciate what we already have.
Reminds me the old Hindi movie “kamchor” when the actor wanted to be rich without any efforts and marry a rich girl and thought everything would be easier, Then he realized the real joy is not in someone else’s wealth, its in the power of his own two hands. And started working by himself. and he never found himself more satisfied.

@Ajay – Yes, prayer has a power to change us. I loved it when you said that prayers give us a vision to appreciate what we already have. Kamchor and number of other Hindi movies have nicely portrayed how protagonist realizes his strengths and plays with it to reach greatness.

First of all, thanks for this refreshing picture of the flower.

Truely every individual has divine powers within. The only thing one has to do is to unfold them. One has to believe in oneself. Here I would like to share one thing that meditation can help a lot to unfold your divine powers. I have tried it and have seen the difference. You really get to know the strengths within you.

Imagine the unfortunate people who cannot see the beauty around and listen to the chirping birds. We are very fortunate to have these powers and so we should value them more than the materialistic things. We have the power to read and understand such wonderful blogs and the power to shape our thinking and attitude accordingly.

We should thank God for giving us the real powers and should stop craving for materialistic things.

Enjoy your powers within and have a great day ahead 🙂

Thanks
Amit

@Amit – Floral photography is my favorite subject. Meditation heightens our awareness and helps us look within. It is one of the most powerful ways for those who struggle to identify their strengths. Yes – we have to be grateful for gifts we have – and it is only when we fully express our gifts that we can flourish in studies, at work and in life!

You too have a great weekend!

Best,
Tanmay

@Ivana – You’re welcome! Thanks for the comment and I am so glad that you found the message uplifting. Yes – one has to not only identify the strengths but work on it – ship their art to the world and make a big difference. But all that starts with a realization that you are powerful and expressing those powers fully converts “work” into “art” – something that is valuable and remarkable.

Have a wonderful Friday and a good weekend too!

Best,

Hi Sir,

Thanks a lot for sharing the excellent post.

Generally, the most common way people give up their powers is by thinking they don’t have any.
This post reminds me a Cartoon TV Series Titled “Captain Planet and the Planeteers” i use to watch in School Days On Cartoon Network TV Channel. In that there is 1 phrase “The power is yours!”. 😀
In those days, it was just a funny phrase for me that was used by Captain Planet.

God has given Unique Powers to every1, we just have 2 identify them without losing trust in him and keep up the good work.

Cheers For The Powers We Have.

Thanks Again.

@Jagat – Thanks for the comment and RT of this post!

Television and movies can give us some excellent insights – if we shift our focus from “plain entertainment” to “meaning”. Thanks for sharing your experience with the cartoon series.

These gifts are wired within our DNA – and most of the times, we don’t care to open these gifts.

Thanks again and yes – Cheers for the powers we have!

This reminds me the famous story of ‘Dabawala’ of Mumbai. Without any materialistic power, the management created from within is simply great. A complete example of eternal Power.

@Niraj – Thanks for reminding me about the great story of Dabbawallas of Mumbai. It is an amazing story of how they SERVE – truly serve others.
