Great Quotes – Birthday musings!

Birthday is a time to introspect and get inspired! Here are a few random quotes about life that make it to my “all time favorite quotes” and are a guiding force in all that I do!

“Don’t count how many years (and moments) you added to your life, count how much life you infused in each year (and each moment therein.)” – this quote comes straight from Bollywood flick “Munnabhai M.B.B.S.” where this a depressed cancer patient just comes to life after this is told to him.

“One kind word can warm three winter months.” – Japanese Proverb. I just love this quote and try to follow it as much as I can!

“There’s good in everybody. Boost. Don’t knock.” – Warren Harding. If we start following this, world would be a different place! In the Management Development Programme, we were asked to hold hands of our colleagues, look into their eyes and speak three positive things about him/her. Each time this happened, a positive vibe was generated. At the end of this exercise, entire room was filled with vibrations of positivity and gratitude so profound that it left people in tears! This process elevated beings of both giver and receiver. Seeing good in others is not always easy.

Last year was excellent – it could have been better but I choose not to regret! I choose to celebrate instead and count my blessings for having a purpose at work, a wonderful bunch of people to work with and a supportive family which is like a never ending stream of love and warmth.

I celebrate from within!

beautiful post! I really like the Japanese proverb – one kind word can make such a difference without even realizing it. Keep writing.

Thanks Suchitra!! I hope you are doing good.

Have a nice week ahead!

Many many happy returns of the day!

Hope you had a great birthday 🙂

Wish you many more wonderful birthdays ahead …

You are a great boss to work for and your patience actually inspires people to give more than 100% to their job !! If more managers were to understand this there would not be much to crib at work !

Thank you
Vrushali

PS: The ice-cream was great .. Thanks ! 😉

In today’s world, I’d like to think that a ‘Boss’ is someone who is more of a role model than someone who gives orders. And I’m sure there are a lot of people who can vouch that you are the ‘boss’ for most of us 🙂

I have fallen in love with “There’s good in everybody. Boost. Don’t knock.”

Boost has to be the key where as most of the managers and even parents keep on knocking. At times Knocking might show short term results, however boost therapy would will ensure that the improvements happen to lead to great results every time.

[…] Paul Schwend is a wonderful friend who lives in Florida and is referred to as an ‘Insurance Man’. Paul made my weekend by sending me a wonderful book titled “Soul Happy” – a brilliant compilation (by Kobi Yamada) of soulful thoughts on some of the core facets of life. My family read the book and totally enjoyed the compilation. It is a perfect reading material for the month of December – a month of reflection, rumination and peeping within ourselves. There is something special about December, and more so if you are born in this month! […]
